Der DOHC-Reihenmotor mit vier Zylindern und 16 Ventilen leistet in der Spitze 70 kW/94 PS bei einer Drehzahl von bis zu 12.000 U/min. Das Drehmoment von 63 Nm sorgt für reichlich Beschleunigung bei der Kurvenausfahrt. Für Fahrer mit A2-Führerschein ist eine Drosselung auf 35 kW möglich, die sich nach dem Erwerb des A-Führerscheins aufheben lässt. Und da Leistung Kontrolle braucht, verhindert die Anti-Hopping-Kupplung das Blockieren des Hinterrads bei starkem Bremsen und Herunterschalten.
